Feeding ban for stray animals

The Animal Rights Protection Board Meeting, chaired by Afyonkarahisar Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı, addressed new regulations concerning stray animals across the province. The meeting was attended by Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal, Afyon Kocatepe University Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Peker, and other officials.

During the meeting, a decision was made to remove feeding stations for stray animals and to prohibit the feeding of these animals. This decision covers streets, university campuses, school gardens, parks, and the grounds of public institutions.

Animal rights advocates have reacted to this decision made by the Governor's Office. It was stated that the decision would negatively affect the living conditions of stray animals and is contrary to animal rights. The Governor's Office has communicated the decisions taken to the relevant public institutions and organizations.
