Fine for grooms during marriage proposal ceremony

In Kırıkkale, prospective grooms who blocked the road and lit flares during a "marriage proposal" ceremony held with the participation of a group of citizens were identified by police teams and issued administrative fines.

According to the information obtained, A.E.E. (22), who was organizing a "marriage proposal" ceremony on 679th Street in the Gürler neighborhood, blocked the road by lighting flares with a group of citizens. An investigation was launched by the Provincial Police Department following footage shared on social media.

Police teams determined that the prospective groom had obtained a wedding permit for the ceremony but did not have a permit to block the road. Furthermore, the prospective groom was fined 7,491 TL for violating the relevant articles of the Highway Traffic Law for blocking the road with a car, and an additional 2,953 TL for acting in violation of orders.

Another incident occurred on Mehmet Akif Street in the Tepebaşı neighborhood. Y.Ç. (23) blocked the road with a vehicle convoy and used flares during a marriage proposal ceremony. An investigation into the footage shared on social media revealed that the prospective groom did not have any permit. Y.Ç. was issued an administrative fine of 2,953 TL for acting in violation of orders.
