A fire broke out for reasons yet to be determined at a rubber factory located in the Beşköprü neighborhood of Sakarya's Serdivan district.
The flames grew rapidly and spread to 5 businesses located next to the factory.
Upon notification, 28 vehicles, 60 firefighting personnel, and heavy machinery were dispatched to the scene.
The teams, which prevented the fire from spreading to more businesses, extinguished the flames in approximately 4 hours. Riot control vehicles (TOMA) and municipal vehicles also supported the efforts.
While the rubber factory and 5 businesses were rendered unusable in the fire, traffic on the D-100 highway in the direction of Ankara is being provided in a controlled manner from a single lane due to ongoing cooling operations.
Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar and Serdivan Mayor Osman Çelik also arrived at the scene to conduct inspections.
