Fire breaks out in agricultural area in Manisa!

A fire that broke out in a grassy area in the Alaşehir district of Manisa and spread to agricultural land has been intervened in. 

The fire, which started in a grassy area near İsmailbey Neighborhood, spread to surrounding agricultural fields due to the effect of the wind in the region.

Upon notification, fire department teams from the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality and teams from the Forestry Management Directorate were dispatched to the area and began efforts to prevent the fire from reaching residential areas.

The fire, which also spread to some houses and barns in İsmailbey Neighborhood, was stopped after the intervention of the teams before it could spread to other houses.

Efforts by the teams to bring the fire under control are ongoing.

In a statement made by the Governor's Office, it was stated that the fire, for which extinguishing efforts are continuing, is being intervened in with 44 firefighting teams, including 13 fire trucks, 2 airplanes, 4 helicopters, 5 water tankers, and 5 construction machines.

The statement emphasized that all necessary precautions have been taken against the possibility of the fire spreading to İsmailbey Neighborhood, surrounding settlements, and the forest area.
