Fire in Geyve reignites at the same spot 5 days later
A forest fire that began on July 20 in the Geyve district of Sakarya and spread to Bilecik has broken out again in the same area after a 5-day interval. Police teams who noticed the flames reached the scene quickly and made the initial intervention with fire extinguishers.

Following the police officers who prevented the fire from growing, fire department and Forestry Directorate teams arrived, fully extinguished the fire, and began cooling operations in the area.
The fire that broke out on Sunday, July 20, in the Hacılar neighborhood area also spread to Bilecik. As a result of the intensive efforts of the teams, the fire in the Geyve region was largely brought under control.
Flames rose again in a location close to the area where teams were continuing cooling operations.
Upon seeing the smoke, which was also visible from the town center, police teams affiliated with the Pamukova District Police Department reached the scene before the flames could grow.
Thanks to the initial intervention made by the teams with the fire extinguishers they carried, the fire was prevented from spiraling out of control again. Subsequently, forestry and fire department teams arrived at the region to intervene and began cooling operations in the area.
