Fire in Manisa spreads toward Uşak

A forest fire that broke out for an unknown reason in an oak grove located in a creek bed in the Türkmentepe area of Ziyanlar Neighborhood in Manisa's Sarıgöl district is spreading toward Taşköy in Uşak's Eşme district due to the wind; it has been reported that the village will be evacuated as a precautionary measure.

While ground crews, fire trucks, and forest firefighting teams are responding to the fire, aerial support is being provided by 3 helicopters and 2 firefighting aircraft. Efforts are underway to open a path with heavy machinery to the area, where vehicle access is difficult due to its location in a creek bed.

Ziyanlar Neighborhood Headman Kamil Horasan stated in his remarks, "Numerous teams are responding to the fire. Roads are being cleared with bulldozers to reach the creek bed. Due to the effect of the wind, the flames are moving toward the Taşköy neighborhood of Eşme. Helicopters are continuing their intervention by carrying water from the nearest water sources to the fire zone."

While efforts to bring the fire under control continue intensely, it has been learned that a crisis desk has been established in Uşak, which is threatened by the fire, and that the governor and the district governor are monitoring the process in the region.
