Fisherman who went missing in Hatay found in Cyprus
The lifeless body of fisherman Refik Sahiloğulları, who went missing in the Samandağ district of Hatay on December 2, has been found on rocks in the sea in the Kyrenia district of Cyprus.

Fisherman Refik Sahiloğulları (57), who lived in the Samandağ district of Hatay, set out to sea from Çevlik Beach with his fishing boat on the morning of December 2. Unable to reach Sahiloğulları, his relatives reported the situation to the Coast Guard Command after he went missing.
On the evening of the same day, another fisherman found Sahiloğulları’s boat empty.
SEARCH OPERATIONS LAUNCHED
Following the discovery of the boat, boats, diving teams, and coastal units affiliated with the Coast Guard Command launched search operations to find the missing fisherman. The search continued for 13 days despite adverse weather conditions and sea states, but Sahiloğulları could not be located.
LIFELESS BODY FOUND IN CYPRUS
After 13 days had passed, Sahiloğulları’s lifeless body was found on rocks in the sea at the Şirinyalı location in the Karşıyaka region of the Kyrenia district of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). An investigation into the incident has been launched by the authorities.
