Fishing ban in inland waters ends, fishermen say 'Vira Bismillah'
With the fishing ban in 'inland waters,' which began on April 1, ending as of July 1 in the Bafra district of Samsun, fishermen have once again cast their nets into the water. Members of the Fisheries Cooperatives in Kolay, Boğazkaya, and surrounding villages operating at the Derbent Dam started the new season in the early hours of the morning by saying "Vira Bismillah."

Stating that they hope for a productive season, the fishermen headed to the lake with the first light of dawn to both earn their livelihood and contribute to the regional economy.
Cooperative officials emphasized the importance of sustainable fishing and warned all members about responsible fishing practices.
Fishermen in the region are determined to continue fishing in accordance with the regulations, without harming nature or aquatic life.
With the lifting of the ban, fresh fish from the Derbent Dam are expected to take their place in local markets.
