A traffic accident that occurred in Malatya in the evening resulted in a heavy toll. An intercity passenger bus traveling in the Doğanşehir district lost control and overturned.
THE BUS DRAGGED FOR METERS
The accident occurred around 18:00 in the vicinity of Kelhalil Neighborhood. The passenger bus with license plate 34 FB 5349, traveling from Malatya towards Adıyaman, overturned after the driver lost steering control. The vehicle, which dragged for meters, then skidded into the ditch.
TEAMS DISPATCHED
Upon notification by citizens who witnessed the accident, numerous health, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Passengers trapped in the bus were extracted by the teams and handed over to medical personnel.
4 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES, 40 PEOPLE INJURED
The driver, 3 bus staff, and 40 passengers were transported to nearby hospitals by medical teams. It was reported that 4 people, whose identities have not yet been determined, lost their lives among the injured receiving treatment. It was learned that 10 of the injured are in critical condition.

STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR YAVUZ
Seddar Yavuz arrived at the scene to conduct inspections. Yavuz stated that search and rescue operations have been completed and that the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
In his statement, Yavuz said, “A tragic traffic accident occurred today around 18:00 as a result of a bus overturning while traveling from the direction of Malatya to Adıyaman. Necessary examinations, research, and investigations regarding the cause of the accident are currently underway. Camera recordings from the nearby area are being examined. We estimate that there were 44 people on the bus. Our search and rescue operations have been completed as of now. All of our injured have been transferred to healthcare facilities. There are those in critical condition, those with minor injuries, and those currently being treated. Detailed information will be shared later. We are saddened. Get well soon to our dear nation.”
