Forest fire in Antalya brought under control

A fire that broke out in a forested area in Antalya has been brought under control following 4.5 hours of aerial and ground operations.

A fire broke out in a forested area in the Çamlıca neighborhood of the Kepez district at approximately 13:00. Upon notification, 5 firefighting helicopters, 4 firefighting aircraft, 12 fire trucks, 4 water supply vehicles, and 4 initial response vehicles affiliated with the Antalya Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the region and conducted aerial and ground interventions.

Fire department vehicles also supported the firefighting efforts. Gendarmerie and police teams in the region ensured perimeter security. Residents living in some houses near the fire were directed to safe locations as a precautionary measure. With the intensive aerial and ground intervention by the teams, the fire was brought under control after approximately 4.5 hours of work. Forested and scrubland areas were damaged in the fire.
