Forest fire in Edirne: Aerial and ground intervention underway
Teams are intervening by air and land in a forest fire that broke out in the woodland area between Erikli and Mecidiye in the Keşan district of Edirne. Intense efforts are being made to prevent the flames from reaching residential areas.

According to the information obtained, a fire broke out for an as-yet undetermined reason in the forest area between Erikli and Mecidiye. The flames, which grew in a short time, spread to the surrounding area due to the effect of the wind. Upon the notification of citizens who noticed the fire, numerous fire brigade teams, water tenders affiliated with the Regional Directorate of Forestry, and construction equipment were dispatched to the region.
While the fire is being fought on the ground by fire and forestry teams, support is also being provided from the air with firefighting aircraft and helicopters. The teams are making intense efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to residential areas. Security measures have been increased in the region.
