Forest fire in Gallipoli largely brought under control
Intensive ground efforts by the Regional Directorate of Forestry teams continue against the forest fire that broke out in the Gallipoli district of Çanakkale. According to the latest official statement from the General Directorate of Forestry, the fire has been largely brought under control.

The fire broke out in the village of Ilgardere in the Gallipoli district yesterday at around 15:00.
The flames grew due to the effect of the wind. Upon notification, Regional Directorate of Forestry teams were dispatched to the region.
Intensive ground intervention continues against the fire as night falls.
According to the statement made by the General Directorate of Forestry, the fire was largely brought under control at around 00:30.
In the statement made by the General Directorate of Forestry via its social media account regarding the fire, it was stated, "We have largely brought the fire that occurred in Gallipoli, Çanakkale, under control.
Our efforts to bring it completely under control continue," the statement read.
