Former mayor loses life in armed altercation
Ahmet Naci Aytemiz, the former mayor of Tunca town, has lost his life in an armed altercation in the Ardeşen district of Rize.

The incident occurred around 15:00 on Atatürk Street in the Merkez neighborhood. According to allegations, an argument broke out between Ahmet Naci Aytemiz (56), the former mayor of the Tunca town municipality in the Ardeşen district, and an individual identified as H.K. inside a business.
The escalating argument spilled out onto the street and turned into an armed altercation.
The individual identified as H.K. drew a weapon from his waistband and fired at former Mayor Naci Aytemiz. While Aytemiz, who collapsed to his knees, was being held by another citizen present at the scene, numerous medical and police teams were dispatched to the area upon notification.
Aytemiz, who was taken to Kaçkar State Hospital following initial intervention at the scene, lost his life despite all medical efforts. While 2 people have been apprehended in connection with the incident, efforts are ongoing to capture 1 more person.
On the other hand, the Pazar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched a judicial investigation into the incident.
