Gülhan Esen's killer has been caught
M.T., the ex-boyfriend sought as the murder suspect of 25-year-old Gülhan Esen, who had been married for 7 months and was shot in the head while on her way to work in the Darıca district of Kocaeli, has been caught by the police. The suspect, who was determined to be in Istanbul following an investigation, was taken into custody in an operation conducted by teams from the Kocaeli Homicide Bureau.

The incident occurred on the morning of March 16 on Halı Saha Street in the Osmangazi neighborhood of the Darıca district. Gülhan Esen, who had left her home to go to work, was shot with a handgun by an unidentified person who got out of a vehicle with an unrecorded license plate.
The suspect, who fired 3 shots at Esen, fled the scene. Upon reports from those who heard the gunshots, police and emergency medical teams were dispatched to the area. Esen, who was found to have been shot in the head during the medical examination, was taken by ambulance to Darıca Farabi Training and Research Hospital. Despite the doctors' interventions, Gülhan Esen lost her life.
KILLER CAUGHT IN ISTANBUL
Following the incident, teams from the Kocaeli Public Security Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau launched an investigation. During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect was the young woman's ex-boyfriend, M.T. The trail of the murder suspect, who had gone into hiding, was tracked to Istanbul. Upon this, the Kocaeli Homicide Bureau went to Istanbul and conducted a joint operation with the Istanbul police.
The suspect, who was found to be hiding in Sultanbeyli, was caught. The captured murder suspect was taken to Kocaeli for questioning.
