The incident occurred near the Uluönder tram stop in the Tepebaşı district. According to information obtained, 18-year-old Arda K., influenced by the war games he played, attacked citizens sitting at a local tea garden with an axe and a knife.

The 18-year-old attacker, identified as Arda K., who was wearing a Nazi helmet, a tactical vest with a swastika, and the Nazi "Black Sun" emblem on his chest, injured 5 people, 1 of whom was in critical condition.

The suspect, who wore a bulletproof vest and helmet and hid his face with a mask, attacked the citizens sitting at the local tea house with a knife. The attacker, Arda K., recorded those moments.

The suspect was apprehended after a chase that ensued when a police officer from the Tepebaşı District Police Department, who was on duty, noticed the incident. The apprehended suspect was taken into custody.

The 5 citizens injured in the incident were transferred to hospitals in the city. It was learned that 2 of the injured, who are under treatment, are in life-threatening condition.

Justice Minister Tunç: The suspect A.K., who injured 5 people by randomly attacking them with a sharp object on the street in Eskişehir, has been apprehended and taken into custody as part of the judicial investigation initiated by the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Minister Yerlikaya also shared the information that the attacker had been taken into custody in a post on his social media account with the following words:

The suspect named A.K., who randomly attacked and injured 5 of our citizens named N.Ö., T.A., C.Ö., C.A., and M.K. with a sharp object at the tea garden in Şehit Rüstem Demirbaş Park on Rauf Orbay Street in Tepebaşı, Eskişehir, has been apprehended and taken into custody.

I wish a speedy recovery to our citizens injured in the attack.

“Regarding the 'Stabbing' incident that took place on 12.08.2024 in the tea garden of Şehit Rüstem Demirbaş Park on Rauf Orbay Street in Tepebaşı, the suspect named Arda K., who had a helmet on his head, a mask on his face, a tactical vest on his body, and a knife in his hand, was apprehended and neutralized by our teams while fleeing after stabbing 5 people sitting in the tea garden for no reason, and the sharp/piercing weapon used in the crime was secured. The injured individuals were transferred to hospitals in the city for treatment. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.”

ESKİŞEHİR GOVERNOR'S OFFICE MADE A STATEMENT REGARDING THE STABBING ATTACK

The Eskişehir Governor's Office made a statement regarding the stabbing attack against citizens sitting in a tea garden in Eskişehir.

In the incident that occurred at a tea house located in the Uluönder neighborhood of the Tepebaşı district, an 18-year-old individual named Arda K. attacked citizens with a knife in his hand. 5 people were stabbed and injured in the attack, which he carried out with attire resembling a war game character.
