As part of the investigation into the discovery of the dismembered body of Nihat Salih (79) in the Dumlupınar neighborhood of Pendik on May 27 at approximately 11:00, a suspect named B.D. was arrested and sent to prison.
New details continue to emerge as the investigation into the murder proceeds.
HE CARVED THE LETTER 'M' INTO HIS BACK
It was learned that Nihat Salih and B.D. spoke on the phone on the day of the incident, that there is a record of B.D. entering Salih's home, and that Salih's phone signal was cut off a few minutes later.
In the examined security camera footage, it was determined that the suspect B.D. dumped something into the trash, held the handle of the bin with a napkin, dropped the napkin after throwing the bin into a vacant lot, and returned to retrieve the napkin containing his fingerprints.
It was determined that the letter 'M' had been carved into Nihat Salih's back with a knife, and that the suspect B.D.'s wife's name begins with the letter 'M'.
It was determined that the suspect, who had previously worked as a shepherd and at a slaughterhouse, had 5 prior criminal records for drug use, insult, assault, and threats, while Nihat Salih had a criminal record from 2006 for encouraging and forcing prostitution. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
