He killed his nine-year-old son and his brother

The incident occurred around 21:00 at an apartment building on Güleryüz Street in the Atakent neighborhood. According to information obtained, Fatih Y., who was reported to have mental health issues, began arguing with his sons. During the argument, the man had a breakdown and stabbed his 9-year-old son, H.Y.Y. The older son informed his uncle of the situation and asked for help. When Metin Y. arrived at the house, he was stabbed by his brother while trying to intervene. The man, who stabbed his son and his brother, then fled the scene.

Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Examinations by the medical teams determined that the victims had lost their lives.

Crime scene investigation teams cordoned off the street to take security measures and conducted an investigation. Following the teams' work, the bodies were placed in a hearse and taken to the Forensic Medicine Morgue. Police teams launched an operation to capture the fleeing suspect, who was taken into custody shortly after.

Speaking about the incident, Halime Güngör said, "The gentleman was already having psychological problems. They had family arguments; we could hear their voices. I think his wife and daughter had gone to a funeral. While the father was arguing with his son, he slaughtered his young son. The older brother went downstairs to inform the uncle. While the uncle was intervening, the brother stabbed and killed his own brother. Then he fled the scene."
