He stabbed his grandmother in the neck after taking her hostage
In the Karşıyaka district of İzmir, an individual alleged to have mental health issues stabbed his grandmother in the neck after taking her hostage. While Special Operations Police apprehended the attacker, the elderly woman was taken to the hospital.

The incident occurred at around 17:45 at a house located on Bahriye Üçok Boulevard.
The 30-year-old individual, identified as Y.E., went to the home of his 86-year-old grandmother, A.U., where he took her hostage and stabbed her in the neck.
ELDERLY WOMAN RESCUED
Upon notification, numerous police and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the address.
The unfortunate woman, who was seen lying on the floor inside the house and suffering from significant blood loss by the police teams arriving at the scene, was rescued the moment her attacker moved to another room and was handed over to medical teams.
APPREHENDED WITH THE KNIFE IN HIS HAND
Special Operations Police were also dispatched to the scene to neutralize Y.E., who was believed to have mental health issues and potentially be armed.
Taking the necessary precautions, the teams apprehended the attacker on the balcony of the house with the knife in his hand and neutralized him.
While the suspect was taken into custody by the teams, it was learned that the elderly woman's treatment at the hospital is ongoing.
