In the Dicle neighborhood, an argument broke out for an unknown reason between J.M.B.B., a foreign national who was reportedly 6 months pregnant, and her common-law husband, M.Ö., at a workplace.
As the argument escalated, M.Ö. severely injured J.M.B.B. by stabbing her 6 times in the abdominal area. Upon notification, 112 Emergency Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that the baby in the womb of the woman, who was taken to Silopi State Hospital by ambulance, had died. The treatment of the woman, who was seriously injured in the knife attack, is ongoing.
Police and gendarmerie teams captured and detained the suspect, M.Ö., who had fled after the incident, in his hiding place in the village of Çiftlikköy. The operation was coordinated by Provincial Police Chief Volkan Sazak and supported by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, the 172nd Armored Brigade Command, and 2 UAVs.
