The incident occurred on May 23, 2026, at a house located on Uludağ Street in the İstiklal neighborhood of Osmangazi, Bursa. According to the information obtained, Cüneyt Taşkıran (60) had recently begun living in the same house with his sister Ç.A. (63) and his nephew E.A. (35).
On the day of the incident, Taşkıran and his nephew E.A. were drinking alcohol at home when they began to argue. The dispute between Taşkıran, who reacted to allegations of violence against his mother, and his nephew E.A. quickly escalated into a violent fight. During the struggle, Taşkıran lost his life as a result of the assault.
The suspect, E.A., continued to stay in the same house with his deceased uncle and his battered mother. It emerged 3 days later that E.A. had been giving conflicting information to those around him, even while going out. On May 25, E.A. went to a taxi stand in his neighborhood and stated that his uncle was lying motionless at home, prompting the dispatch of police and medical teams to the scene.
Upon receiving the report, police and medical teams arrived at the address and discovered Taşkıran's lifeless body. Following an initial examination, Taşkıran's body was transported to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. The injured mother, Ç.A., was taken to the hospital by ambulance and placed under treatment.
Following the incident, the suspect E.A. was taken into custody by police teams. It was learned that in his initial statement to the police, the suspect denied the accusations and claimed he was not at home during the incident.
Furthermore, it was revealed that E.A. had a prior criminal record with the police due to allegations of violence against his mother, Ç.A.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
