High school retaining wall collapses into residential complex garden in Beşiktaş

Following heavy rainfall in Istanbul, a section of a high school's retaining wall collapsed into the garden of a residential complex in Akatlar.

Following heavy rainfall in Istanbul, a section of the retaining wall at the ITU Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Akatlar, Beşiktaş, has collapsed. The debris falling into the garden of an adjacent residential complex caused brief panic in the area.

The collapsed retaining wall caused damage to the complex's garden.

It was learned that the incident occurred yesterday morning with a loud noise. As concrete and rubble scattered during the collapse, a window of a house was also damaged.

The area was cordoned off with security tape.

According to initial reports, there were no deaths or injuries in the incident. While the collapse caused property damage in the complex's garden, an investigation into the incident has been launched.

Concrete pieces and rubble that fell into the garden were captured on camera.

Damage was also observed in the remaining sections of the wall following the collapse.
