Long queues of vehicles formed on the highway due to the accident. Road cleaning crews carried out cleaning and sanding work on the road where the accident occurred. The vehicles involved in the accident were removed from the scene with the help of tow trucks.

Accident victim Nazım Altun said regarding the incident, "I was hit. After I was hit, the vehicle that struck me ricocheted and turned into the right lane, causing other vehicles on the highway to get involved, leading to a chain-reaction accident. I skidded for about 3 to 3.5 meters. Thanks to the woman in front stopping, I was able to regain control of my vehicle and stop. After I stopped, the event started when another vehicle hit me from behind. When the vehicle hit me, I was thrown from the middle lane to the right lane and my vehicle turned sideways. Afterwards, the chain-reaction accident occurred as other vehicles piled into each other."

The highway was reopened to vehicle traffic after about an hour of work. An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
