Inmates and guards hospitalized in Edirne

According to allegations, approximately 108 inmates and guards were taken to hospitals after suffering from food poisoning at the Edirne Open Penal Execution Institution.
According to the information obtained, inmates and convicts who consumed dried beans, rice, and cacık (yogurt with cucumber) for dinner began to complain of dizziness and nausea. Upon this, prison authorities notified medical personnel.
Approximately 108 inmates, convicts, and guards were transported by ambulance to Sultan 1st Murat State Hospital and Trakya University Faculty of Medicine Hospital by medical teams arriving at the prison following the report, where they received intravenous treatment in emergency departments.
It was learned that the inmates and convicts are not in life-threatening condition.
The inmates whose treatments were completed were taken back to the prison.
