Judicial control for father and son who attacked a dog with sticks in İzmir

In the Buca district of İzmir, moments were captured on camera showing a father and son, armed with sticks, brutally beating a dog that was sleeping on the ground. While the condition of the dog, which suffered multiple blows to its head and back, remains serious, it has been learned that the attacking father and son were released under judicial control.

According to the information obtained, the incident occurred recently on 694th Street in the Mustafa Kemal neighborhood of İzmir's Buca district. A father, R.K. (64), and his son, T.K. (33), who were carrying sticks, brutally struck a 15-year-old elderly dog that was sleeping on the ground and was blind in one eye multiple times.

The attacking father and son did not stop despite the dog crying out in pain after being injured in the head and lower back, and they left the scene with their sticks. The terrifying moments were recorded second-by-second by a business's security camera.

The dog, which lost a lot of blood and is in critical condition, was taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment, while animal lovers reacted to the incident following the footage that went viral on social media.

Upon complaint, the attacking father and son were apprehended and taken into custody by teams from the Buca District Police Department. The attackers, who were referred to the courthouse after their statements at the police station, were released under judicial control conditions.
