Lawyer caught transporting drugs
In Konya, during an operation by narcotics police targeting drug users, it was learned that lawyer A.İ., who was caught with 25,000 narcotic pills, had been using drugs at various times and was apprehended by police teams while returning to the city center in a suspicious manner after leaving the city in a vehicle that did not belong to him to avoid drawing attention.

According to the information obtained, teams from the Konya Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch had been tracking lawyer A.İ., who had been using drugs on different days, for some time. Following the investigation, it was determined that last week, lawyer A.İ. had left the city with his friend I.Ç. in a vehicle that did not belong to him and traveled to Istanbul.
After the vehicle used by lawyer A.İ. re-entered the Konya city center, it was placed under surveillance again by narcotics teams. The vehicle, in which the lawyer and his friend were traveling, was then brought to a controlled stop. During the search conducted by police teams, 25,000 narcotic pills were seized inside boxes in the trunk of the vehicle.

The driver, lawyer A.İ., and his friend I.Ç., who was with him, were taken to the police station to have their statements recorded. After completing the procedures at the police station, lawyer A.İ. and his friend were referred to the prosecutor's office. In his statement there, it was learned that A.İ. said, "I went to Istanbul to meet with a client regarding a case. After we talked about the case there, the subject turned to drugs. Later, the person I was meeting with said he had synthetic pills with narcotic properties. After I gave him 360,000 liras in cash, he put the package he brought into the trunk of the vehicle and we came to Konya. I did not know who I was going to give the package to in Konya."
It was also learned that I.Ç., who was with lawyer A.İ., said in his statement, "Before we set off, A.İ. only told me let's go to Istanbul and come back, I had no knowledge of the drugs."
LAWYER AND HIS FRIEND ARRESTED
During the examinations, it was determined that the market value of the synthetic pills was over 1 million 500 thousand liras. A.İ. and his friend I.Ç. were arrested by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace and sent to prison. It was revealed that lawyer A.İ. had been subjected to an armed attack in the courtyard of the Konya Courthouse on October 7, 2021, and was wounded in the leg as a result of that attack.
