Man assaults wife and shares confession of infidelity on social media

An individual who shared footage of himself assaulting his wife on social media has been detained in Mersin. In the incident, which was determined to have taken place in another city approximately 3 months ago, the suspect beat his wife, recorded her confession, and published it on social media months later.

According to the information obtained, an unnamed individual in a different city assaulted his wife about 3 months ago, alleging that she had been messaging other men.

The suspect recorded the moments when his wife confessed to the situation on his mobile phone with the intention of sending it to her father.

After the incident, the suspect was detained on charges of 'assault' and underwent legal proceedings; he then came to Mersin following a restraining order. When the suspect shared the footage on his social media account months later, he was detained in the Toroslar district of Mersin, where he had relocated.

In a statement regarding the matter, the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office said, "An ex officio investigation has been initiated regarding the footage in question, and 1 person has been detained."

Meanwhile, it was learned that the woman who was subjected to violence has been placed under protection in a women's shelter.
