In the Mamak district of Ankara, a man going through a divorce first set his car on fire in front of his mother-in-law's house and then opened fire into the air with a pump-action shotgun.

The incident occurred around 21:00 in the Ekin neighborhood of Ankara's Mamak district. According to the information obtained, a man identified as H.Ş. went to the house of his mother-in-law, where his wife S.Ş., who is in the process of divorcing him, was staying.
The man, who went to the front of the house, called his wife and mother-in-law repeatedly. Upon receiving no answer to his calls, the man became enraged, poured gasoline over his own vehicle in front of his mother-in-law's house, and set it on fire.
Unable to contain his anger, the man then opened fire into the air with a pump-action shotgun he was carrying.
Upon the notification of local residents who witnessed the incident, police, ambulance, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire in the vehicle was extinguished as a result of the intervention by the fire department teams.
The incident resulted only in material damage. The suspect was apprehended by police teams along with the pump-action shotgun used in the incident.
It was learned that the suspect, who was taken into custody, will be referred to the courthouse following processing at the police station, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
