Man shoots woman alleged to be his girlfriend, then dies by suicide
In Istanbul's Sarıyer district, a man allegedly shot Aydan Vural, a mother of two, in the head with a gun he brought with him during an argument, and then died by suicide.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, which came to light after Vural's mother reported to the police, "I cannot reach my daughter; I came to her house and from what I can see through the window, she is lying there unconscious."
The incident occurred around noon on Emirgan 1st Street in the Emirgan neighborhood of Sarıyer. According to the information obtained, the mother of Aydan Vural (36), a married mother of two, notified the police, stating, "I cannot reach my daughter; I came to her house and from what I can see through the window, she is lying there unconscious." Police teams were dispatched to the scene following the report.
Upon inspection, the teams found Aydan Vural and a male lying next to her, both having been shot in the head and deceased. Investigations revealed that the male was Gökhan Meral (36), who allegedly had a long-term relationship with Vural and had been constantly threatening her. It was also determined that Meral had 5 prior criminal records, and a handgun was found on his person. While the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident, the bodies were taken to the Council of Forensic Medicine for autopsy procedures.
