The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources had previously granted a mining exploration license to a private company within the borders of the Perşembe Plateau, Çiseli Waterfall, and Korgan Plateau. The private company was planning to search for gold using cyanide on the plateaus at an altitude of 1500 meters.
INTERVENTION BY THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
The attempt to open a mine on the plateau, famous for its natural meanders and greenery, drew a major reaction from local residents and environmental advocates.
Following the objections, the Provincial Pasture Commission, established by the Ordu Governor's Office, conducted an on-site inspection and reached its decision. The commission, which met under the chairmanship of Ordu Governor Muammer Erol, did not grant permission for mining in the plateau.
