Over 208 million liras in damages identified following floods and landslides in Trabzon
It has been reported that damage assessment studies have been completed for 148 workplaces, 130 residences, and 87 vehicles following floods and landslides in the Araklı, Yomra, Arsin, and Sürmene districts of Trabzon, with total damages amounting to 208 million 528 thousand 531 liras.

In a statement released by the Governor's Office, it was recalled that extreme rainfall on Friday, September 20, caused floods and landslides in 4 districts.
The statement noted that 339 reports were received by the 112 Emergency Call Center and district AFAD centers established in the district governorates from the first hours of the incident, and that the relevant institutions intervened as necessary, with all calls being resolved and closed.
Emphasizing that debris removal work continues on closed road routes and in stream beds with 639 personnel and 359 pieces of heavy machinery at the scene, the statement recorded the following:
"A total of 39 neighborhoods in our Araklı, Arsin, Sürmene, and Yomra districts have been affected by landslides and flooding, and 35 residences, 1 workplace, and 3 barns have been evacuated. Work continues in other neighborhoods. Damage assessment studies are ongoing, and work has been completed for 148 workplaces, 130 residences, and 87 vehicles in our Araklı, Yomra, Arsin, and Sürmene districts. The total cost of damage has been determined to be 208 million 528 thousand 531 liras. In the damage assessment studies conducted, a total of 197 structures were inspected, including 81 undamaged, 104 slightly damaged, 1 moderately damaged, 7 heavily damaged, 2 destroyed, and 2 that could not be assessed. In our Araklı, Arsin, Sürmene, and Yomra districts, a total of 503 thousand 823 square meters of agricultural land belonging to 623 producers, as well as 156 thousand 110 stored products, 5 agricultural machines, 3 cattle, and 15 beehives were damaged."
Pointing out that damage assessment and repair work regarding damages to roads and engineering structures within the network of metropolitan and district municipalities are continuing, the statement indicated that it has been determined so far that 288 retaining walls, 85 culverts, 2 pipes, 1 open channel, 870 meters of concrete road, and 1 fortification need to be built at 298 points.
Stating that problems regarding telephone and internet lines for all subscribers in the districts have been resolved and that line repair and improvement work continues, the statement also reported that malfunctions in energy transmission lines have been fixed and there are no neighborhoods left without power.
The statement noted that the Turkish Red Crescent (Türk Kızılay) distributed 600 servings of hot soup, 2 thousand 190 meals, 8 thousand 250 beverages, 8 thousand snacks, and 4 thousand 400 waters at the landslide site, and that as a result of a call made by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), cleaning work was completed at 4 schools, 2 mosques, and the Araklı State Hospital with 110 AFAD volunteers who came from 10 provinces, and that the relevant institutions are continuing their work to eliminate the effects of the landslides and floods in the region.
