The Hakkari Governor's Office made a statement regarding the incident on its X account. The statement issued by the Governor's Office included the following:

"Efforts to capture wanted individuals continue uninterrupted as part of the work carried out by the Hakkari Provincial Gendarmerie Command. As a result of intelligence and information gathered, A.M. (71), who had been wanted for 15 years with a life sentence for intentional homicide, was captured in a rural area where he had been hiding, following 4 months of surveillance and meticulous work. After the completion of the procedures, the individual was arrested by the judicial authorities and delivered to a penal institution."
