Police commissioner dies while changing lightbulb

A police commissioner in Arnavutköy has died after losing his balance and falling from the balcony of his 11th-floor apartment while standing on a ladder to change a lightbulb.

According to reports, Police Commissioner Şenol Özcan, who served at the Arnavutköy District Police Department's Patrol Teams Bureau, climbed a ladder on the balcony of his 11th-floor apartment to change a lightbulb. 

Losing his balance, Şenol Özcan fell from the balcony. Following reports from residents of the apartment complex, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

Özcan, who was severely injured, passed away despite all interventions by medical teams at the scene. Crime scene investigation teams conducted a detailed examination of the apartment to determine how the accident occurred. An investigation into the incident has been launched.

"WE LOST HIM AS A RESULT OF A TRAGIC ACCIDENT"

Apartment resident Aykut Aktaş said, “Our Commissioner Şenol was apparently placing his chair on the balcony to change his lightbulb while he was alone at home.

According to the information we received, he lost his balance and fell from his balcony on the 11th floor. He was an older brother I knew very well. We lost him as a result of a tragic accident in our complex. Condolences to his family and loved ones,” he said.
