Police officer dies in accident while on duty

On June 29, police officer Cemalcan Ev, who was traveling to his duty station in a police vehicle in Kocaeli, was severely injured in an accident on the D-100 Highway. The police officer, Cemalcan, passed away after being taken to the hospital. 

In a statement released by the Kocaeli Provincial Security Directorate, it was stated: "Police officer Cemalcan Ev, serving on the staff of the Kocaeli Kartepe District Security Directorate, was unable to be saved despite all interventions at the Kocaeli University Training and Research Hospital, where he was taken after being injured in a traffic accident on the Kocaeli D-100 Highway while on duty on Saturday, June 29, at approximately 08:45, and has attained martyrdom. 

Following a ceremony to be held in front of the Kocaeli Security Directorate on Sunday at 10:00, our martyr's funeral will be laid to rest in the cemetery of Kaleköy Village in the Gölköy District of Ordu Province, following the funeral prayer to be held after the afternoon prayer," the statement read.

In a statement shared by the Kocaeli Governor's Office, the following expressions were used: "Our martyr will be bid farewell to his eternal resting place in his hometown of Ordu. Police officer Cemalcan Ev, who was injured as a result of a traffic accident while on duty on Saturday morning, could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital and has attained martyrdom. Following the ceremony to be held for our martyr in front of the Kocaeli Security Directorate on Sunday at 10:00, he will be bid farewell to his eternal resting place in his father's home of Ordu. We wish God's mercy upon our martyr, police officer Cemalcan Ev, and offer our patience and condolences to his family, our dear nation, and our police organization. May his soul be blessed and his place be high."
