Police officers responding to a fight report attacked by a dog

In Bartın, a dog attacked motorcycle-mounted police teams responding to a report of a fight. The two police officers on the motorcycle were injured after it overturned and were taken to the hospital.

According to the information obtained, motorized 'yunus' (dolphin) police teams set off toward the scene following a fight report from the dispatch center. The dog, which had been attacking vehicles passing along Kanlırmak Street, lunged toward the motorcycle carrying the police team. 

Following the driver's maneuver, the motorcycle overturned, and police officers Ü.Ö. and F.Ç. were injured. Following the accident, numerous police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. The first intervention for the injured officers was provided by their colleagues who arrived at the scene and by medical teams.

The injured officers were taken to Bartın State Hospital for treatment following the initial intervention. While it was stated that the health condition of the injured officers is improving, Bartın Police Chief Ünsal Hayal also visited the hospital to see them. Police Chief Hayal, who received information about the incident and the officers' health status, closely followed the officers' treatment process.

It was noted that the dog that attacked the police teams was owned, and that proceedings have been initiated against the owner, whose name was not disclosed.
