In the Kepez district of Antalya, a horrific attack took place just one day after the perpetrator was released from prison. Muhammet Mustafa D. (46) stabbed his ex-girlfriend Züleyha K. (36) and her boyfriend Uğur D. (44) before fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred around 16:00 on the ground floor of a 3-story apartment building in the Güneş neighborhood, when Muhammet Mustafa D., who had recently been released from prison, went to the home where his ex-girlfriend Züleyha K. lived. Züleyha K. and her boyfriend Uğur D. opened the door together. Upon seeing his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend, D. attacked the pair with a knife he pulled from his pocket.
During the attack, Züleyha K. and Uğur D. collapsed to the ground covered in blood after being struck by successive knife blows, while police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene following reports from neighbors. The attacker, Muhammet Mustafa D., fled the scene rapidly.
Medical teams provided the first intervention at the scene. One of the victims, Züleyha K., suffered significant blood loss due to stab wounds to her abdomen and was rushed to Kepez State Hospital. It was reported that Züleyha K.'s life is in danger. Uğur D. was also transported to the same hospital, and it was learned that his condition is critical.
POLICE LAUNCH LARGE-SCALE SEARCH
Following the incident, the police launched a large-scale search in the surrounding area to apprehend the attacker. Teams are examining security camera footage and working to identify the suspect.
NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS DESCRIBE THE MOMENTS
Bülent Özkan, one of the neighborhood residents who witnessed the moment of the incident, said, "I was in the building and heard screams. Someone was running away, and someone else was shouting, 'I've been stabbed.' That's all I saw. Then I went to the scene and called an ambulance. The woman was wounded."
Gözde Beylik stated, "We went out because of the shouting; he was yelling, 'Brother, help!' We immediately called an ambulance. The woman had been stabbed in the abdomen and was losing a lot of blood. We heard that this person had threatened the woman with death while he was in prison. He entered the apartment building while they were not home and waited in ambush," she said.
