The first term of the 2024-2025 academic year, which began on September 9, 2024, has concluded. Approximately 20 million students in primary and secondary education institutions have entered the semester break.
The Ministry of National Education presented "development reports" instead of report cards to 1st-grade primary school students this year as part of the Turkey Century Education Model. Citizens flocked to the roads after working hours to spend their holidays in their hometowns or at vacation resorts.
Traffic congestion occurred in Kırıkkale, the "key junction" that serves as a transit point for 43 provinces. The density, which began in the evening hours, was particularly effective on the Ankara-Kırıkkale and Kayseri-Kırıkkale highways.
The heavy traffic was captured and recorded from the air by drone. Drivers were forced to proceed slowly due to the congestion. The heavy vehicle traffic returned to normal after being effective for a while.
