She shot herself in front of the school where her ex-boyfriend works: Female teacher critically injured

In Adana, a woman who went to the school where her ex-boyfriend works to request a meeting shot herself with a handgun in a park after being refused. While the woman was critically injured, the incident was recorded on a mobile phone camera.

The incident occurred in the evening hours in the 2000 Evler neighborhood of the Seyhan district.

Inci K., a teacher working in Şırnak, came to the school in Adana where her ex-boyfriend works, wanting to speak with him. After her request for a meeting was denied, the woman went to a park near the school with a handgun she had brought with her.

Citizens who saw Inci K. threatening to shoot herself immediately notified the police. Upon the report, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

The persuasion efforts by police negotiators, which lasted about an hour, did not yield results.

During this time, Inci K. fired the handgun she had held against her chest. After receiving initial intervention at the scene, Inci K. was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

It was learned that the woman, who is undergoing treatment in intensive care, remains in critical condition.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.
