The incident occurred in the town of Bağlıkaya during the morning hours. A dispute broke out between shepherd Veyis Ergin (34) and N.D., the son of Mehmet Düzgün (37), over sheep grazing. As the argument escalated, N.D. shot Ergin in the groin and abdominal area with a shotgun. Ergin, who collapsed to the ground covered in blood, remains in critical condition.
As Mehmet Düzgün attempted to take the shotgun from his son's hands, the weapon discharged once more, and Düzgün was wounded in the legs. Following the incident, Veyis Ergin's wife, Esma Ergin, and his sister, Sümeyye Kaya, notified health and gendarmerie teams. While the critically injured Ergin was taken by ambulance to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital, Mehmet Düzgün was also taken to the same hospital by car.
Gendarmerie and police teams took extensive security measures to prevent any tension between the relatives of both parties who gathered at the hospital following the incident. In the emergency room, Esma Ergin and Sümeyye Kaya recounted the event in tears. Sümeyye Kaya asked hospital staff about her brother's condition.
Gendarmerie teams are continuing their efforts to apprehend N.D., the perpetrator of the incident.
