Shocking theft in Konya: He didn't hide his face, he waved at the camera

A suspect who stole 50,000 liras from a vehicle in Konya and waved at the security camera after noticing it was caught by police in a short time. The perpetrators of another series of thefts in the city were also taken into custody along with the stolen items.

After the owner of a vehicle in the Fevziçakmak neighborhood of Konya's central Karatay district realized that 50,000 liras had been stolen from inside, they reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, teams from the Konya Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch, Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau, were dispatched to the area and began examining surrounding security cameras one by one.

HE WAVED AT THE CAMERA AND WALKED AWAY

As a result of the investigation, it was noted that the person who committed the theft waved at the security camera while leaving the scene. O.K. (15), whose identity was determined from the footage, was caught within an hour along with the 50,000 liras he had stolen, thanks to the rapid work of the teams. The recovered money was returned to the vehicle owner.

SUCCESSIVE THEFTS FROM MOTORCYCLES AND BUSINESSES

The teams, which launched an investigation into four consecutive theft cases in the Meram and Selçuklu districts, determined that a motorcycle in Meram and mobile phones, tablets, a charity box, and 1,500 liras in cash from three separate businesses in Selçuklu had been stolen.

The Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau teams identified the perpetrators of the incidents as A.A. (16) and H.E.H. (13). Both suspects were caught and taken into custody.

STOLEN ITEMS RETURNED TO THEIR OWNERS

The stolen motorcycle, electronic devices, and cash were recovered and returned to their owners. The detained suspects O.K., A.A., and H.E.H. were handed over to the Juvenile Branch Directorate teams after the completion of their procedures at the police station and were referred to the courthouse.
