Sivas population has decreased
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the Address-Based Population Registration System (ADNKS) results for 2024.

According to TÜİK population data, the population of Sivas, which was announced as 650 thousand 401 in 2023, fell to 637 thousand 7 in 2024. With these figures, the population of Sivas decreased by 20.8 per thousand in 2024 compared to 2023.
While the population of Sivas's city and district centers increased, the population of towns and villages suffered a significant loss. The population of city and district centers, which was 481 thousand 942 in 2023, rose to 487 thousand 239 in 2024.
The opposite situation occurred in rural areas. The town and village population, which was 168 thousand 459 in 2023, fell to 149 thousand 768 in 2024.
Of the 637 thousand 7 people living in Sivas, 317 thousand 652 were men and 319 thousand 355 were women. While the population density, defined as the "number of people per square kilometer," was 111 across Turkey, it was announced as 23 in Sivas.
The number of foreigners living in Sivas in 2024 was announced as 6 thousand 651. Of these foreigners, 3 thousand 681 were men and 2 thousand 970 were women.
