Statement from Bursa Metropolitan Municipality on 'collapse': Two brothers lost their lives

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality announced that the collapse in the Mudanya district of Bursa occurred during excavation work carried out by the residents with the help of an excavator, and that two brothers lost their lives after being trapped under the soil.

A statement has been issued by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality regarding the landslide that occurred in the Ülkü neighborhood of Bursa's Mudanya district.

In the statement, it was noted that teams from the Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department arrived at the scene rapidly following reports of the collapse, and that initial investigations indicated the collapse occurred during an excavation project carried out by the residents themselves with the assistance of an excavator.

It was determined that two citizens were trapped under the soil due to the collapse.

As a result of search and rescue efforts conducted in coordination with AFAD, the citizens trapped under the soil were reached; it was determined that the individuals under the rubble were brothers and that both had lost their lives. The bodies were taken to the morgue of Mudanya State Hospital.

In the statement made by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, it was said, "We wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives, and extend our condolences to their relatives and the people of our region."
