Striking statement from young man after knife attack in vehicle: 'If I hadn't run, he would have killed me'

In Aksaray, a young man was attacked and stabbed by an identified individual while in a moving vehicle. The injured youth recounted the terrifying moments he experienced during the initial police intervention.

In the incident that occurred on Atatürk Boulevard in the Taşpazar neighborhood of Aksaray, 23-year-old Arda G. became the target of a knife attack while traveling in a vehicle with his friends. According to allegations, an individual named İsa Ç. approached the moving vehicle, reached through the window, stabbed Arda G. in the arm, and then quickly fled the scene.

At that moment, Riot Police teams from the Provincial Security Directorate, who were patrolling the area, intervened immediately. Police teams provided the first medical support to the injured man and launched an operation to apprehend the attacker.

Describing the moment of the incident to police officers, Arda G. stated that he survived because he managed to escape from the attacker, saying, "If I hadn't run, he would have killed me."

The reason for the attack and the ensuing altercation has not yet been determined. The injured Arda G. declined the offer for an ambulance and hospital treatment following the initial intervention. Consequently, the young man was taken to the police station to provide his statement. Police efforts to apprehend the suspect, İsa Ç., are ongoing.
