Surprise rain in Istanbul
Following a long period of dry and hot weather in Istanbul, a sudden, short-lived rainfall showed two different sides of the city. While the precipitation provided a breath of fresh air for Istanbul residents overwhelmed by the heat, it also led to accidents in traffic.

Citizens experienced great joy with the rain that was effective in many districts of the city. Many people, taking advantage of the cooling that came after weeks of sweltering heat, recorded those moments with their mobile phones and shared them on social media. Another effect of the rain was seen in traffic. On roads made slippery by the rain after dry weather, property damage accidents occurred, especially on main arteries.
