Surprising expenditure by trustee-run municipality: 4.4 million TL for a festival

While Batman is known as one of Turkey's economically weakest provinces, the municipality under trustee management is undertaking a remarkable event.

The Batman Municipality, where Governor Ekrem Canalp has been appointed as trustee, has allocated a budget of 4.4 million liras for the 'Coffee and Chocolate Festival' to be held between April 19-23, 2025. The fact that the festival coincides with the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day has drawn attention.

COST AND CONTENT OF THE FESTIVAL

The total cost of the festival has been set at 4 million 483 thousand 51 liras, with daily expenditures reaching 1 million 120 thousand liras. Within the framework of the agreement made with HBS Organization, the festival will feature the most exclusive flavors of coffee and chocolate, colorful stands, fun workshops, and concerts. Additionally, events such as DJ performances and a 'Survivor' competition will be held.

SPECIAL EVENTS FOR CHILDREN

Various events have also been planned for children at the festival. Treats such as popcorn, Ottoman paste, cotton candy, and balloon animals will be offered. Furthermore, a special survivor course will be set up for children. The municipality states that these events will offer a unique experience blended with the beauties of Batman.
