Teacher critically injured in high school knife attack passes away
A teacher who was critically injured after being stabbed by a 17-year-old student at the Çekmeköy Borsa İstanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School has passed away at the hospital. It was reported that the treatment of another teacher and one student injured in the incident is ongoing.

The incident occurred around 11:00 AM at the Borsa İstanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Çekmeköy. According to the information obtained, 17-year-old F.S.B. stabbed teachers Fatma Nur Çelik (44) and Z.A. (52), as well as his peer S.K. (15).
Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The three injured individuals were taken to hospitals by ambulance after receiving initial intervention.
Teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, who was critically injured, passed away despite all medical interventions at the hospital. It was learned that the other injured teacher and the student are still undergoing treatment and are not in life-threatening condition. F.S.B., who carried out the attack, was taken into custody at the scene, and police teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, in a statement regarding the matter, Turkish Education Union (Türk Eğitim Sen) Chairman Talip Geylan stated the following:
"As the Turkish Education Union, we are closely following the process and wish a speedy recovery to our injured colleague and student. This incident has once again shown that security vulnerabilities in our schools must be addressed, a sufficient number of security personnel must be employed in every school, and sanctions against violence toward education workers must be applied without compromise."
