"MY BROTHER IS DYING THERE"

Describing the incident, business owner Ercan Keser said that the group of 6, consisting of 4 men and 2 women, arrived at the venue around 03:40 AM. Stating that the staff said they could not provide service because they had reached the end of their legal operating hours, Keser said, “They argued with the staff because they were intoxicated.

Our staff escorted them out. Outside, they attacked my staff with knives. After the attack, they got into their vehicle and left. My staff then went inside to close the shop. Afterward, the vehicle returned. The vehicle came back and drove past the front of the shop toward Akköy at high speed.

They drove past the front of the shop at high speed a total of three times. My staff were waiting cautiously because they didn't know what they would face. Afterward, they returned with the vehicle again and drove it toward my brother Ferhat, who was standing outside. They hit him with the vehicle at high speed, and then my brother died there,” he said.

“WE DID NOT INTERFERE WITH ANYONE THERE"

Expressing that business owners are often viewed negatively in public opinion but that they were the victims in this incident, Keser said, “We are just trying to earn a living. We did not interfere with anyone there. The individuals came and argued there, and we couldn't do anything about it.

Our time was up, meaning we cannot provide service after that hour; it is prohibited. There is a time limit given to us. Afterward, people say that business owners are bad. Today, the brother I worked with lost his life. The individuals fled but were caught later.

Thanks to our state, the gendarmerie, and the police, they were caught in Çivril. We want the necessary penalties to be imposed. We will not let this matter go. This case of ours will continue to the end. My brother's blood will never remain unavenged. We stand behind everything we say,” he stated.

On the other hand, the body of Denktaş, who lost his life in the incident, was received by his family living in the Viranşehir district of Şanlıurfa. It was learned that Denktaş will be laid to rest in his hometown.
