A group of 50 people gathered in Bodrum Town Square and held up signs reading, "Access to the sea is everyone's right," "The coasts are no one's property," and "The coasts belong to all of us."
The group members, who claimed that business operators were occupying the beach that should be used by the public in exchange for a usage fee (ecrimisil), then sunbathed for a while in the square by setting up towels, sun loungers, and beach umbrellas.
Local and foreign tourists passing by watched the group members as they applied sunscreen and poured water over themselves in the area.
