They were defrauded of 800 thousand liras while trying to get rid of a 100 thousand lira debt

In Bolu, the couple İbrahim (31) and Buse (26) Yurt wanted to sell their inherited house in May to pay off their 100 thousand lira debt. The young couple agreed with a real estate agent, I.K., to sell their 2+1, 100-square-meter apartment located in the İzzet Baysal neighborhood.

The Yurt family, who agreed with the real estate agent to sell the house for 1 million 800 thousand liras, began waiting for news from the agent. It is alleged that the real estate agent I.K., who was hired to sell the house, reached an agreement with a citizen named S.K. by stating that the house was worth 1 million liras.

The parties were brought together by the real estate agent for the title deed procedures. 1 million liras were handed over in cash to the homeowner, İbrahim Yurt, by S.K. It is alleged that they were told the remainder of the money would be provided later.

THE REAL ESTATE AGENT DISAPPEARED

After the title deed procedures, Buse Yurt asked for the rest of the money to be paid. The person who bought the house showed Buse Yurt the 1 million lira contract they had made with the real estate agent and said, 'I bought it for 1 million.' Expressing that they were victims, Buse Yurt stated that after the events, the real estate agent I.K. disappeared and had also taken 200 thousand liras from S.K., the person who bought the house.

Explaining that they had entered into a legal process with the real estate agent, Buse Yurt said that I.K. came with his family, committed to paying the money, and signed 3 promissory notes.

It was learned that the case filed in court was waived. Speaking to İHA, Buse Yurt stated that they have been victims for months, noting that they could not receive any payment because the real estate agent had no assets registered in his name.

"WE KNEW WE WERE SELLING IT FOR 1 MILLION 800 THOUSAND LIRAS"

Stating that they thought they had sold the house for 1 million 800 thousand liras, Buse Yurt said, “I was born in Bolu and I live in Bolu. The house belonged to my grandmother; she gave it to us as a wedding gift. I put it in my husband's name. My husband has bipolar disorder. We had a 100 thousand lira debt.

Since this kept increasing, we decided to both sell the house and buy a 3+1. We didn't fit when we had children. We said it would be better if we bought a 3+1 apartment. We also wanted to pay off our debt. We met a real estate agent. We made contact. While selling the house, he also found the 3+1 house we would live in.

He found a customer and brought them. The men looked at the house. I mean, nothing was discussed at that moment. Nothing was said. These men know they bought it for 1 million liras. We know we sold it for 1 million 800 thousand liras. We acted accordingly, looked for a house, and determined our debt,” she said.

"THEY MADE A 1 MILLION LIRA CONTRACT AMONG THEMSELVES"

Stating that they could not reach the real estate agent and were victims, Buse Yurt said, “But there was no such thing at all. We learned about it later. They made a contract among themselves stating they sold it for 1 million liras. A contract that was not in the presence of a notary. I think they are all collaborators. They are all aware of each other. On the day of the title deed, they made my husband sign without giving him the money.

Saying ‘The money is in my pocket.’ After they made him sign, I looked at the money they gave; it was in Euros and Dollars. I don't know, it was the first time I had seen something like that. I said it might be fake. I mean, because we didn't understand, 800 thousand liras were missing. I said what happened to this? I went to the first buyers. I mean, there was a partnership in between.

They said there was no partnership or anything. ‘This doesn't concern us.’ I took out their money and gave it back. I said, ‘There is a misunderstanding here. Give me back my title deed.’ They said, ‘The real estate agent also asked for 200 thousand liras from us.’ They had given him 200 thousand liras too. We filed a complaint. We hired a lawyer and I filed a complaint. The real estate agent was in Bolu at that time. Now he is gone. We cannot reach him. He doesn't answer our calls,” she said.
