Traces found on suicide note raise suspicion of murder: Found dead on Valentine's Day

The incident came to light when H.K. called the 112 Emergency Call Center to report that he had found his wife's lifeless body at home. Medical teams determined that 33-year-old Düriye Çiğdem Keklik had died after being shot in the chest with a rifle.

At the scene, a note was found that read, "I did not cheat on you, I know nothing about any of the photos. I have never thought of anyone but you. I loved you more than my own life. I am very sorry for making you go through this. Forgive me. I am taking my own life of my own free will, you are getting rid of me." The discovery of H.K.'s fingerprint on the note changed the course of the investigation.

In the indictment prepared by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which launched an investigation into the incident, it was emphasized that the bloodstains at the scene, gunpowder residue, and the fingerprint on the note contradicted H.K.'s account.

It was stated that the note might have been written by Düriye Çiğdem Keklik under duress.

Furthermore, it was alleged that H.K. subjected his wife to systematic violence, that the victim lived under fear and pressure, and that an argument had taken place between the spouses on the day of the incident.

The indictment also stated that the suspect might have staged the scene after the murder to make it look like a suicide.

DENIED THE ACCUSATIONS

H.K., who was arrested by the duty magistrate after being referred to the courthouse following his detention, denied the accusations in his statement to the prosecutor's office. H.K. stated that he had found photos of ex-lovers on the phone of his wife, whom he had been with for 5 years and married in 2024, and that they had argued about this on February 13. H.K. said, "I told my wife to delete the photos. She said she deleted them, but they were still in the trash bin. I told her she was being disrespectful to me, I got angry and went outside. My wife had a heart condition, so I returned home."

Claiming that the argument continued the next day but that he went to work and found his wife dead by suicide with a rifle when he returned home in the morning, H.K. said, "I never left work that night. My wife had given me her phone and said, 'Look at whatever you want, I have no secrets from you'."

The trial of H.K. in line with the indictment prepared by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office will begin in the coming months. Forensic reports, crime scene investigations, and the analysis of evidence will play a critical role in the case.
