Citizens who spent their holidays on the coasts of Thrace, Çanakkale, the Gulf of Saros, and the Aegean have begun their return to Istanbul as the 9-day Ramadan Feast holiday nears its end. This return movement has caused significant traffic congestion on the Tekirdağ-Istanbul highway.
In order to regulate the flow of traffic, traffic inspections, which were previously carried out by 4 teams and 8 personnel, have been increased to 22 teams and 46 personnel. Authorities stated that they expect traffic to intensify even further tomorrow, the final day of the holiday.
